14th May 2015: Asa precursor for holding India’s first Cherry Blossom Festival in the State, the Avenue Cherry Tree Plantation was launched by the Chief Minister Dr MukulSangma at Ward’s Lake. A total of 5000 trees are expected to be planted in and around the city.
